Carmen Cooper, Finance/Accounting Specialist, IT F&A

Carmen always has a smile on her face!

Carmen is honored to be working in the IT Finance Administration family as a Finance and Accounting Specialist. She sees this as an opportunity to work with good people and help Emory continue to be an exceptional educational institution.

Carmen is a native Atlantan and a Grady baby. She's a positive influence on others, and likes to have fun and enjoy life to the fullest. Happily married for 32 years, she and her husband have two children with post-graduate degrees. On July 1, her family added the first grandchild to the Cooper clan, Aaron III.

Her hobbies are traveling with her husband, any physical activity, and spending quality time doing anything with family and friends.

Francis Fernandes, Desktop Consultant II, Enterprise Services

Francis is proud to be at Emory.

Starting in August as an IT Desktop Consultant II, Francis was previously at Brown & Brown Insurance Inc., as a Help Desk Analyst. Before that, he spent six years at the IT Help Desk of The HUB at Clayton State University.

With a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology, Francis did his senior project on repairing and programming a PUMA 560 Robot arm to move from one location to another.

Francis was born in Kuwait, where he lived for 18 years. His nationality is Indian and he moved to the US in 2004. His hobbies include playing drums, soccer and cricket, watching movies, and traveling.

Emily Hansen, TOC Engineer IV, Enterprise Services

Emily brings thoughtful professionalism to the job.

As the newest TOC Engineer IV, Emily will be working on network and system monitoring (Smarts). Before coming to Emory, she worked for Cbeyond doing network and system monitoring.

Emily hails from Austin, TX and moved to Atlanta for work. Did you know Austin was the capital of the Republic of Texas and that it is currently considered the "live music capital of the world?"

Emily is an avid reader, music lover, car enthusiast, motorcycle rider and lover of all things electronic.
